Privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung)

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what personal data this website processes, why, and what rights you have. In short: the site sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other servers. The only personal data it collects is the email address you enter to receive the sample chapter.

1. Who is responsible

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Robert Weller
Riedweg 12C, 55130 Mainz, Germany
hello@robertweller.me

Full contact details are in the imprint.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, on servers in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.

Whenever you open a page, the server automatically records technical information that your browser sends: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the site and to keep it secure. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted after [retention period as set in KAS, e.g. 7 days].

The connection to this site is encrypted (TLS), so the data you enter cannot be read in transit.

3. No cookies, no tracking, no external resources

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising tools, and does not embed content from other providers. Fonts and styles are stored on this server, so no data is sent to third parties such as Google when you load a page.

4. Sample chapter and book notification (Kit)

On this site you can enter your email address to receive the first chapter of my book and an accompanying worksheet, plus one email when the book can be ordered. You receive further emails, such as my newsletter, only if you agree to them separately.

Double opt-in. After you sign up, you receive an email asking you to confirm your address. You are added to the list only once you click the link in that email. To be able to prove your consent, I store the time of sign-up and confirmation and the IP address used.

Data processed: your email address; the time of sign-up and confirmation and the IP address used; whether and when you open the emails and click links in them.

Purpose: sending the sample chapter, the worksheet and the notification that the book is available; documenting your consent.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Logging the consent is based on my legitimate interest in being able to prove it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Withdrawal: you can withdraw your consent at any time, using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to hello@robertweller.me. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it. After you unsubscribe, your data is deleted. I may keep your email address in a block list for up to three years, on the basis of my legitimate interests, solely to prove that you once consented.

Service provider: the emails are sent with Kit, a service of Kit, Inc., [address as stated in Kit's data processing addendum], USA (kit.com; privacy policy: kit.com/privacy). Kit processes the data on my behalf on servers in the USA under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The transfer to the USA is based on Kit's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR) and, in addition, on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

5. Contacting me by email

If you write to me, I process your email address and the content of your message to answer you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where your message concerns a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. I delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@robertweller.me.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz), Mainz.

7. Changes to this policy

I update this policy when the website or the services it uses change. The current version is always on this page.
